On Saturday 7 August, 4-6pm, environmental Artists' Reiko Goto & Tim Collins will be hosting an open discussion on their work and the themes of the exhibition "Plein Air: The Ethical Aesthetic Impulse". Goto and Collins will discuss their current practices and future aims whilst posing questions to the audience about experiences and relationships with trees. Duncan McGregor, Arboricultural Planner at Aberdeen City Council, will also be present to discuss the councils vibrant, dynamic and forward looking policy to plant a tree for every citizen by 2011. Parent & Child Screenprinting Workshop

Join Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak, who is currently exhibiting her new series of prints at Peacock, on Saturday 7 August from 10 - 4pm
for a workshop where both you and your little one can learn the fun and creativity involved in basic printmaking, collage and drawing. The class will be for 5 - 7 year olds and involve a variety of printmaking techniques, collage and drawing activities. You'll get the chance to try your hand at gum arabic transfer, monoprinting and stencil printing, through which parents and kids will work together to create one complex image. Current Exhibition "Plein Air : The Ethical Aesthetic Impulse"

In "Plein Air: The Ethical Aesthetic Impulse", Reiko Goto and Tim Collins exhibit a box easel for the 21st Century. The ‘plein air’ easel for this exhibition has developed technological devices that allow people to observe and listen to a tree as it responds to atmospheric changes caused by human transport and habitation. The artists engage specific trees in public places between the Don River and the Dee River in Aberdeen. Opening night Friday 2 July, 6 - 8pm. A beautiful new series of prints by Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak will be on display in the reception Gallery space at Peacock Visual Arts from 3 July - 14 August 2010. The new series of prints were produced during a one-year residency in the printmaking department of Gray's School of Art and "explore the idea of growing up portrayed as a journey from innocence to experience."
