Between 2006 and 2007 Swedish artist Jens Strandberg did research on software programme 'PowerPoint', trying to grasp the impact and power of information when compressed into bullet points and ultra-short summaries. As part of Recoded Jens will give a public talk about the his project. Starts 6pm. Location Peacock Visual Arts. Admission free

Digital technologies have become an integral part of how we work and communicate, understand ourselves and the world. 'Recoded' aims to raise questions about the effects and meanings produced by contemporary digital landscapes. Featuring international artists including Alexander Egger, skĂșta, Anna Jermolaewa, Caleb Larsen, Manu Luksch and many others. Opening night Thursday 24 April, 6 - 8pm.
Bilingual pupils featured in new animated short

Peacock's Digital Department has completed an animated short which highlights the benefits of having bilingual pupils in the classroom. A young Polish girl and her Scottish classmates were interviewed about the highs and lows of moving through the school system when English is not your first language. See the result here!

We are holding Basic Black and White Darkroom classes in April and May here at Peacock Visual Arts! Guided by our technician and professional photographer Nicole Plumb, you will be introduced to the beautiful qualities that can be achieved by developing your own black and white photographs.
