Australian artist Tim Winters exhibits series of 6 collagrahps he produced during his visit at Peacock this summer, together with works from Australia. Tracing his journey from Australia to Orkney 'Island to Island' is a series in rich, deep colours and subtle textures, both abstract and revealing a careful observation and analysis of landscape.
16 years old, arriving in Australia from grimy London; entranced by the sparkling, rippling water, the pure surf, the salt bleached sand … later; the diamond light, the red earth, the ethereal and ephemeral history and mystery of the ancient weather worn land … and, then, returning to Orkney after a visit some time ago; rediscovering the green dark sea, the stark islands shrouded in mist, the history built in stone, the sense of arrival and departure … - Tim Winters
