For three days a group of young people from travelling backgrounds will be working with filmmaker Mark van Hugten at the Elphinstone Institute (University of Aberdeen), in conjunction with Peacock Visual Arts and Creative Identities. They will produce short films and learn about all aspects of the filmmaking process.

In follow up sessions next week, the group will also learn editing skills and have the opportunity to further develop their new skills by becoming involved in the filming of Legacy, an Elphinstone Institute documentary project looking at the life of famous ballad singer and member of the travelling community, Jeannie Robertson.

The project starts Thursday 10 July.
