Peacock Visual Arts is looking to appoint a fulltime Marketing and Communications Manager. You will be responsible for all marketing and communications of Peacock’s activities and to help raise Peacock’s profile on a local, national and international level through media coverage, high quality publicity material and clear communications.

Job description

General:

Raising Peacock’s profile on a local, national and international level through media coverage, high quality publicity material and clear communications. Responsible for all marketing and communications of Peacock’s activities.

Reports to: Campaign Director

Tasks:

  • Creating and implementing an annual marketing strategy
  • Developing Peacock Brand awareness throughout a variety of media
  • Developing and implementing audience development strategies to generate new audiences and engage better with current stakeholders.
  • Securing local, national and international media coverage for Peacock: taking a pro-active approach to media and press coverage; identifying and exploiting story and feature opportunities; building close relationships with the media to maximise media coverage
  • Building Peacock’s online presence in order to grow audiences, awareness, engagement and revenue; updating e-bulletins and website; using new technologies including social networking and online sales functions
  • Create a full suite of marketing materials for Peacock’s activities and events including brochures, flyers and posters
  • Identify innovative marketing opportunities including advertising and sales promotions.
  • Building partnerships with a variety of stakeholders; corporate, media, arts, tourism and political to raise Peacock’s profile and position as an organisation of local, national and international importance.
  • Work closely with Campaign Director on Campaign activities for new arts centre development
  • Recruit and manage a team of loyal volunteers building a team who can help with day to day tasks as well as advocacy.
  • Install visitor feedback mechanisms and systems for audience segmentation on databases
  • Event Organisation
  • Brand management including signage etc.
  • Day to day admin including ad-hoc promotional tasks.

Person Description

Essential

  • Outgoing personality and ability to initiate dialogue and engage interest in others including journalists and broadcasters
  • Excellent social and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing and/or communications, ideally in an arts environment
  • Knowledge of writing and implementing a marketing plan
  • Experience in using Web 2.0 (social media) for marketing purposes
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Self-motivated, taking own initiative / can work with minimum supervision
  • Able to keep to a tight budget
  • Able to work to deadlines

Desirable

  • Project management skills
  • Knowledge of graphic design (Photoshop / Illustrator)
