Aberdeen City Council in partnership with the Scottish Arts Council is pleased to announce the launch of the Aberdeen Visual Arts Award Scheme for 2010. The primary aim of the scheme is to support the development of Aberdeen based visuals artists by awarding grants towards the creation of new work. Secondly it is hoped that these awards will encourage artists to remain in the city, which is a fundamental objective in achieving the vision of Aberdeen becoming a ‘vibrant, cosmopolitan and internationally acclaimed creative city’.

Awards of up £1500 are available to all visual artists who live or regularly produce work within the city of Aberdeen who are not currently undertaking full-time study. Awards will not be given retrospectively and travel costs cannot be included in any application.

Applications must be received by the 28 February.
