Current Exhibition "Insight, Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak"

14 June 2010

Lithograph “Carolers” by Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak

Lithograph “Carolers” by Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak

Opening Night 2 July, 6-8pm

A new series of prints by Agata Dymus-Kazmierczak produced during a one-year residency in the printmaking department at Gray's School of Art.

"My new series of prints explore the idea of growing up portrayed as a journey from innocence to experience. In my prints, the child’s world is a place where everything is clear and straightforward – either black or white. Step by step, day by day everything turns out to be more complex and consequently grayer and grayer. This notion of childhood bliss being gradually corrupted by gained knowledge and understanding is depicted through the prism of my own observations and experiences of growing up in Poland. My lithographs and etchings trail my personal discoveries of the inward or hidden nature of things and family secrets which are subtly intertwined with historical facts – from glorious moments to inconvenient truths."

Exhibition Runs 3 July - 14 August
