Last week! Architecture in Scotland 2004-2006

31 July 2006

installation

“(...) Why do we end up with trash spaces that no-one wants to live in? Does brand have to mean bland? How do we stop ‘the Wimpification’ of Britain?”

These are amongst the many questions explored in the third biennial review of Scottish architecture, ‘Architecture in Scotland 2004-2006 - Defining Place’, produced by The Lighthouse, Scotland’s National Architecture Centre. The third in this series of reviews looks specifically at defining ‘place’. By revealing the conceptual thinking behind a range of recent projects varying in scale, budget and ambition the exhibition seeks possible answers to today's architectural concerns.

The Lighthouse publication 'Defining Place' accompanying the exhibition is for sale at Peacock visual arts for £9.99
