New work by Michael Visocchi

20 November 2006

Beneath Running Skies

18 November - 23 December. Opening night Friday 17 November, 6-8pm.

'Beneath Running Skies' shows new prints, sculpture and photography by Michael Visocchi. This exhibition brings together new works completed over the past 12 months and will comprise of sculpture, photography, and for the first time, screen printing and etchings produced in collaboration with Michael Waight and Linsay Croall at Peacock visual arts.

Visocchi's practice is concerned with the visual and political tensions which arise at the points where nature meets culture in our post-industrial and semi-rural landscapes. He creates fictional representations of these points using photography while continually expanding on sculptural interpretations of these themes.

The exhibition will show the interrelationships and cross-referencing found at the heart of Visocchi's practice and demonstrate how ideas and themes are developed and translated through these 3 mediums.
