5thPlans for art centre approved by Council's planning committee

Peacock Visual Arts is delighted that Aberdeen City Council's planning committee have agreed an intention to approve the plans for a new arts centre for the City in Union Terrace Gardens. The plans for the proposed £10m development were supported unanimously....

9thOut now: catalogue of 'Adaptation'

'Adaptation. Redesigning the everyday' was a project in Spring 2007 about the impact of design in people's daily lives and the 'redesign' of public spaces by the people who use them. The catalogue of the exhibition is out now! Featuring documentation of the new work produced in Aberdeen by international artists Adams, Akay, Kidpele and Made (APA Collective), Brett Bloom and Bonnie Fortune, Brad Downey and Dominic Hislop. Price £12.

19thDirector's Cuts - A New Series Celebrating the Art of the Filmmaker

The University of Aberdeen presents a new series of discussions featuring acclaimed and international filmmakers – essential viewing for anyone fascinated by life behind the lens. On Tuesday 27 November Raul Ruiz will be in conversation with Kriss Ravetto-Biagioli. All discussions are held at King's College, Old Aberdeen. 3Sixty-TV will be streaming the events live online...

19thSolo show by Sarah J Tingle

'Curiosity killed the cat but for a while I was the suspect' is a show of new work by recent Gray's School of Art graduate Sarah J Tingle. Sarah's work includes painting, drawing, and a wide range of other media. Opens Friday night 23 November, 6pm and runs till 22 December.

30thFilm @ Peacock: Histoire(s) du Cinema by Jean-Luc Godard

4 and 11 December Peacock Visual Arts will be screening Histoire(s) du cinéma by Jean-Luc Godard, a savage critique in two parts of the cinema and 20th century history. Histoire(s) du cinéma is a relentless, irascible, maddening tour de force in which Godard provides a near-autopsy for his beloved art form. Starts 7pm on both nights. Admission free.
