12thParliamentary Support for New Arts Centre Plans

Aberdeen Central Labour MSP, Lewis Macdonald has today welcomed plans for the new Centre for Contemporary Arts proposed in Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens by submitting a motion to the Scottish Parliament commending the plans for the development. “I am delighted to lend my support to the plans for this exciting project." MPs Anne Begg and Frank Doran also recently expressed their support during a visit to Peacock.

12th'The Yes Men' screened at Peacock this Thursday at 6.30

The Yes Men follows a couple of anti-corporate activist-pranksters as they impersonate World Trade Organization spokesmen on TV and at business conferences around the world. The story follows Andy and Mike from their beginnings with GWBush.com, and on to their tasteless parody of the WTO's website....

13thJob @ Peacock: Accounts Assistant

We are currently looking to employ an accounts assistant. Reporting to the Finance and Admin Manager, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for accurate financial record keeping, reception cover relief and ad hoc administrative duties

14thFilm screening Thursday 20 Sep: 'Pickpocket'

Come along to the screening of 'Pickpocket', a film by Robert Bresson, next Thursday 20 September at 6.30pm. Michel (Martin Lasalle) is a petty thief who, after being arrested and then released, starts discussing the rights and wrongs of crime with the police inspector. The only way he can find a place for himself in society is to engineer a head-on collision with it. Part of the exhibition 'Lifting'. Admission free.

21stTalk by sound artists on 26 September

After Bill Thomson's sound art performance 'Burning Harpsichord' on Footdee beach last year, the next installment of this project will take place by artists Lee Patterson and Owen Green at the Lemon Tree on 26 September. Before this live performance Lee will give a free public talk at Peacock Visual Arts, at 5pm.

26thCall for submissions: Christmas Show 2007

Peacock Visual Arts would once again like to invite artists to submit work for the annual Christmas Exhibition. We’d like to encourage work from all areas i.e. printmaking, painting, sculpture and film. Submission deadline: Saturday 3 November.
