Time Winters. Island to Island.

Australian artist Tim Winters exhibits a series of 6 collagraphs he produced during his visit at Peacock Visual Arts this summer, together with 5 works from Australia. Tracing his journey from Australia to Orkney 'Island to Island' is a series in rich, deep colours and subtle textures, both abstract and revealing a careful observation and analysis of landscape.

Self Portrait as an Industrial Revolutionary

Under the employment of Henry Ford, Jack the Hard Worker has invented an eco-friendly musical vehicle, which runs on good old-fashioned donkey power. This invention will be on display alongside video, drawings and other sculptural works.

Invisible Oil

Austrian artist Ernst Logar engages with oil and its significance as the basis of our modern civilization. The exhibition interweaves the material of crude oil and the diverse economic, political and social levels of the North Sea oil industry in a range of artistic media. Read more

Bycatch refers to discarded fish unintentionally caught by trawlers. Norwegian artists Höhne & Gismarvik investigate the declining fishing industry in Aberdeen and the North East in dialogue with Fisherman George, The Gutters,Captain Birds Eye and many others. Read more

New Prints

Peacock's printmakers have again been working with a wide range of artists which has resulted in a collection of beautiful fine art prints. The various new prints by artists including Kenny Hunter, Barbara Rae, John Byrne, David McCracken and others are on show in Peacock's reception area.

No Time to Lose

Startled by what seems to be an ever increasing problem, curator Milena Placentile (Canada) produced the show No Time to Lose as a response to the systemic decline of personal time experienced in various parts of the world due to increased hours spent working. Featuring work by various international artists.

Memory Maps

This exhibition by David Rushton includes meticulous model interiors of an artist's workplace; the artist's studios, gallery, conceptual art museum, factory and classroom. A founder member of the Analytical Art Group in the 1960s and later a member of Art & Language, Rushton explores the cultural and material conditions of working in art as an unfinished ongoing narrative. 2008 sees the 20th anniversary of Piper Alpha, the worst offshore oil disaster to have occured in the North Sea. Photographer Owen Logan's work is characteristically critical of the oil economy. This exhibition shows his view in a series of powerful portraits. Read more

Brian Ross: Painting live at Peacock
