One Day Screen Monoprinting Workshop

Spend a day learning how to create painterly one-off prints by painting watercolour materials directly onto the mesh of the screen. This process will encourage the artist to expect the unexpected, relax around the painting, enjoy the process and anticipate the finished results that are not revealed until the last moment. Over the course of the day it may be possible to achieve results in surface textures, beautiful layering and the bleeding of one colour into another.

Screen monoprinting is an innovative printmaking technique. Watercolour materials such as pencils, paints and water-soluble artists bars are drawn/ painted onto an open silk-screen mesh in a fluid manner. Once dry, a squeegee is used to pull a clear medium over the screen, forcing the watercolour materials into the page.
