Peacock Visual Arts will be hosting family workshops during the Schools October break; Neil Kellas and Niamh Coutts will lead these workshops, creating an environment for freedom of expression, developing new skills but most of all having fun.
Create-A-Skate is a family workshop where you can customise your own up-cycled skateboard decks. These are second hand wooden decks that have been reshaped and sanded to a quality fit, for function or for decoration. This workshop aims to provide a safe space for participants of all ages to express their creativity whatever knowledge of art and skateboarding they have. This is a gently guided class with a relaxed structure, encouraging participants to make they own decisions and choices. Neil Kellas will be there to assist realising these ideas and will be on hand to if guidance is wanted or needed. A range of materials and processes will be provided such as; spray paint, acrylic paints, and printing materials. The outcome of this workshop is to allow people to create freely, at any skill level and to leave with an object that can be used in a healthy and active way.
3D Collage Workshop:
Niamh Coutts will be hosting a family friendly 3D collage workshop where you can create a beautiful framed ‘pop up’ collage to take home at the end of the day. This is a gently guided class encouraging participants to create freely whatever their skill level. Bringing drawings and photographs to the workshop is encouraged, but not a requirement as there will be plenty of time to create something on the day. In this workshop you will be provided with a large range of materials to create your collage, including the opportunity to learn how to plaster cast small objects and incorporate them into your artwork. This is a wonderful, calming creative activity providing the perfect opportunity for some dedicated family time.
