Printmaking classes

Peacock Visual Arts offers classes and workshops in different types of printmaking for beginners and those wishing to advance their skills.

If you are a printmaker and would like to start using our facilities, you can book an induction with Michael Waight or Linsay Croall by phoning 01224 639539. Inductions cost £10 (or £7.50 concession) and can be arranged at a time to suit you.

Beginner and Intermediate Stone Lithography Classes

Our Lithography classes run on demand and are taught by Elspeth Lamb, an artist considered to be one of Scotland's finest printmakers.

We are currently collecting names of people who would like to take part in our lithography classes, so please let us know if you would like to join the list. The class runs over 1 weekend from 10am-5pm and is £95 or £70 concession. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Screenprinting Classes

• Class: Beginners Screenprinting
• Date: to follow.
• Time: 10am-5pm both days
• Costs: £95 or £70 concession

In the screenprinting class, you will be taught the basics of how to realise an image as a screenprint. You will learn how to incorporate photocopies and text into an image, and also how to create painterly washes and marks onto your print.

Etching

Learn the basics of this historic technique used by artists from Rembrant to Hockney. Experiment with techniques such as soft and hard ground and aquatint. No previous experience required.

Relief Printing

On this class you will learn the basic techniques of where printing all started from utilising woodcuts to linocuts. This course is ideal as an introduction to printmaking for the beginner and gives a thorough grounding for people who want to continue further in the field of print.

The small print

All 2 day classes are £95 (or £70 concession), running from 10am - 5pm both days. Lunch is not provided, but we have a kitchen that you are welcome to use. Materials are provided, but sketchbooks, reference books and inspirational images are always useful. It can get a bit chilly here, so please dress warm, and don't wear your Sunday best!
